The International Christian Consulate focuses on Christians from the Middle East. We support people from across the region including Syria, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Turkey and Kurdistan, who have fled their home countries and come to Greece for sanctuary.
Our forward operating base is in Athens, Greece, where we have a network of safe houses across the city and co-ordinate with partners on the ground in an effort to provide care and support to Christian refugees at risk of persecution in the camps and other refugee accommodation.
Greece was part of the ancient Middle Eastern world when it was included in Asia Minor. It's culture and climate are similar to the Middle East, and the refugees find it far less alien than other European countries.
